Golomt Bank has been named the Bank of the Year Mongolia-2024 by “The Banker” magazine which determines the trends of the international banking and financial sector. Golomt Bank has won “Bank of the Year Awards” for the 9th time.
The Banker magazine, a part of “The Financial Times” Ltd has a rich history of 100 years, and hosts the “Bank of the Year Awards” annually.
Since its founding in 1995, Golomt Bank has played a vital role in Mongolia’s economic growth. In 2024, it was also named “Best Bank in Mongolia” by Capital Finance International (CFI) and “Best Digital Bank in Mongolia” by Global Finance magazine. Recognized as an “Featured Sustainable Finance Bank of 2024” by the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association, the Bank of Mongolia, and the Financial Regulatory Commission for its leadership in advancing sustainable finance practices.
The bank successfully issued a US$300 million senior unsecured notes in the international capital market – the first such issuance by a Mongolian commercial bank since 2012. This not only contributed Mongolia’s credit rating but also enhanced international confidence in the country’s economic and business potential.
Golomt Bank continues to prioritize sustainability, offering six loan types, including preferential and green loan products. To date, it has provided 42 billion MNT (USD 12.3 million) in green loan investments for energy-efficient construction projects. By 2030, the bank aims to have 10% of its loan portfolio dedicated to green and sustainable financing.
